PHOENIX - A crash north of the Valley caused long traffic delays on southbound Interstate 17 on Sunday.
The Arizona Department of Transportation said the crash happened before 2 p.m.
All lanes were reopened about 4 1/2 hours later.
Traffic was backed up for about 20 miles from Cordes Junction to Black Canyon City.
According to the Department of Public Safety, the one-vehicle crash involved minor injuries.
ADOT said the road closure lasted so long because a fifth wheeler was involved in the accident and it broke up into many pieces. It took hours to get everything cleaned up so they could safely reopen all lanes.
