PHOENIX - Authorities say a driver died in a crash involving a semi tractor trailer rig early Monday morning on a Valley freeway.
According to spokesman Bart Graves with the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around 4:15 a.m. on Interstate 17 at Happy Valley Road.
The semi tractor trailer rig was traveling southbound on Interstate 17 about 60 miles per hour at the time, Graves said.
A Saturn sedan then entered the freeway through the gore point at Happy Valley Road.
The semi truck then struck the driver side of the Saturn.
The driver of the Saturn, 51-year-old Brian P. Bedard of Anthem, died on scene.
