PHOENIX - The Arizona Department of Transportation says traffic has cleared from an earlier backup on Interstate 17 north of the Valley.
According to ADOT, traffic was very slow or backed up late Monday afternoon into the early evening near Black Canyon City. The backup was approximately 12 miles long at one point.
There was another area of slowing for two miles on I-17 near the junction with State Route 69, according to ADOT.
ADOT says the delays were due to a high volume of vehicles on the highway for the holiday weekend.
