PHOENIX - You may notice that larger, easier to read signs are starting to show up on state highways.
The Arizona Department of Transportation says it's replacing highway signs with brighter and larger ones that engineers say are easier to understand at freeways speeds.
ADOT intends to phase in the new signs as new roadways are constructed, when highways undergo major reconstruction or as existing signs wear out.
The state says motorists will see both the old and new signs in use over many years.
