Matt Leinart's days in a Cardinals uniform may indeed be numbered as we hear from Fox Sports Jay Glazer that several NFL teams have confirmed receiving phone calls or emails from the Cardinals regarding Leinart's services.
What Glazer says he doesn't know at this point is the asking price for the former first round draft pick. But does that really matter? What matters is the fact that the Cardinals are shopping Leinart.
That tells us all we need to know about how the team feels about the former USC star and Heisman Trophy winner. Apparently all the rumors were more than just rumors... the team and coaching staff has lost confidence in his abilities to lead this team.
That said, it's not hard to imagine another NFL team taking a chance on Leinart, particularly in Seattle where former USC coach Pete Carroll has taken over. Reuniting with Leinart might be an idea Carroll would entertain.
Too bad for Matt though, he really thought this was going to be his team and he clearly expected to be the starter. Unfortunately, he didn't do enough of whatever "enough" is to warrant the job.
