PHOENIX - MLB has announced the 2013 All-Star rosters for July 16, 2013 at Citi Field in New York and the Arizona Diamondbacks get two first timers selected: Paul Goldschmidt and Patrick Corbin.
This makes the fifth year in a row the D-backs have had at least one first-time All-Star named.
First baseman Goldschmidt and left-handed pitcher Corbin are the 19th and 20th players in franchise history to be selected to the team, according to a Diamondbacks press release.
According to the Diamondbacks, Goldschmidt, 25, has 20 home runs and a National League-leading 71 RBI.
Corbin, 23, is 9-1 with a 2.49 ERA (33 R-32 ER in 115.2 IP), .209 opponents average, 30 walks and 89 strikeouts in 17 starts, according to the Diamondbacks.
The 2013 All-Star Game will be played at Citi Field on Tuesday, July 16th.
