HELENA, MONT. - The Big Sky Conference has issued a one-game suspension to Northern Arizona football player Mike Dosen for an illegal hit in his team's game at Montana last weekend.

Commissioner Doug Fullerton said Dosen initiated helmet-to-helmet contact with a Montana player with just under nine minutes left in the third quarter of Saturday's game. NAU won 41-31.

Fullerton says the sophomore from Pittsburg, Calif., will serve his suspension Saturday when NAU plays host to Portland State.

NAU's coaching staff was notified of the suspension on Tuesday.
