PHOENIX - I’m not sure if you noticed, but this year's NBA All-Star game doesn’t involve a single Phoenix Suns player!

Look, I’m not going to tell you that this is the first time the Suns haven’t had an All-Star. In fact, historically the Suns have been represented in the All-Star game at least eight times per decade.

The best decade was the 70s when the Suns had someone in the NBA All-Star game 10 times. It happened eight times in the 80s, eight times in the 90s, and eight times from 2000 to 2009.

So far this decade, they’ve missed out twice already. They didn’t have anyone in 2011 and there’s no one this year!

That’s twice in four years, so in order to keep up with team history, the Suns will need to have a representative in every All-Star game between now and 2019. Otherwise, this will be the worst decade for All-Stars in franchise history.

Coincidence? I don’t think so!

You don’t have to look any further than the Suns' front office to see that there isn’t a single All-Star on the roster. And unless something drastic happens, there won’t be one next year either.

Or in the years to come! Come on Suns, give us something to cheer about.

That’s Fouhy on Sports!
