TEMPE, AZ - Lisa Love spent the last seven years at Arizona State University, but some believe Love made some very questionable decisions when it came to Sun Devil athletics.

In 2006, Love fired head football coach Dirk Koetter who coached his team into three straight bowl games, going 40-33 in six seasons with the team.

He went on to spend multiple seasons as the offensive coordinator of the Jacksonville Jaguars and is now with the Atlanta Falcons.

Just one month later, Dennis Erickson was hired to replace Koetter.

He led Devils to a 10-3 record and a trip to the Holiday Bowl in 2007. Since then, Erickson went 21-27 and finished every season without a winning conference record.

In 2008 he finished 5-7. In 2009 he was 4-8 and in 2010, Erickson went 6-6.

Love fired him in December of last year.

Shortly following, Todd Graham was announced as the next head coach for Sun Devil football that had many people around the Valley asking, “Who?”

Graham had been the head coach at Pitt for just 11 months and would leave there with a 6-6 record.

Also in 2006, Herb Sendek would replace Rob Evans as the men’s basketball head coach.

Evans went 119-120 with just three winning seasons and one NCAA Tournament appearance in his eight-years as head coach.

Sendek would accept the role of head coach. He left N. Carolina St. where he led the Wolfpack to five tournament appearances.

At ASU, he currently has a 98-96 record and recently extended his contract for another two-years.

In 2009, it was discovered that baseball coach Pat Murphy had violated NCAA recruiting regulations. These infractions involved telephone recruiting and questionable student athlete employment. Murphy was forced to resign shortly after.

This year, the Sun Devil baseball team is in-eligible for post-season play due to those infractions.

Love did manage to pick up seven national championships during her time; however, none of them came from the money-making sports of football or men's basketball.

President Michael Crow replaced Love Wednesday with Steve Patterson, who was hired in July 2010 as chief operating officer of Sun Devil athletics.
