PHOENIX - The Arizona Cardinals announced on Monday afternoon that they have released running back Beanie Wells.
Wells played in eight games last season, and had 88 carries for 234 yards and five touchdowns.
Wells has been with the team since 2009.
The team's announcement comes amid new reports that former Cardinals star Anquan Boldin has been traded from the Baltimore Ravens to the San Francisco 49ers.
