TEMPE, AZ - The Arizona Cardinals announced Friday the team has released quarterback Kevin Kolb.

Kolb joined the Cardinals in 2011 in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles.

He played in 15 games (14 starts) over two seasons in Arizona and completed 255 of 436 passes with 17 touchdown passes and 11 interceptions, according to a team news release.

"His passing rating was 83.2 and he collected $20.5 million on his contract," according to the Cardinals website .

Kolb was injured in a game against Buffalo last October and suffered a concussion and toe injury the year before.

The Cardinals still have John Skelton and Ryan Lindley under contract and will draft a quarterback at some point, according to the team's website.

The ABC15 Sports team is digging into this announcement right now. Check back for updates throughout the day.
