Blog: Garnett's cheap shot gives game a bad name

PHOENIX - For years I've been saying that in my opinion, there are a lot of thugs in the NBA. And now, I have proof!
Have you seen what Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett did to Channing Frye during Friday night's game?
With about four minutes to play, and the Suns up by 11, Frye shoots a three from outside the arc, Garnett reaches down and smacks Frye right where he shouldn't!
A low blow... an illegal hit... something guys just don't do to other guys.
Talk about a CHEAP SHOT!
And that's a 13-time NBA All-Star! Garnett ended up with a foul on the shot and two technical fouls. He got ejected from the game and sent to the locker room.
But you have to hand it to Channing Frye; the guy didn't back down! Clearly he wasn't hurt, but it was an unmistakeably cheap shot.
The otherwise "soft-hearted" Suns actually stood up to the thug and got in his face!
Apparently, Frye's teammates enjoyed Channing's aggressive behavior so much, they went to the trouble to find some boxing gloves and hung them on his locker after the game!
It's guys like Garnett that give the entire league a bad name.
Friday night Kevin Garnett was a disgrace to the game of basketball, and that's too bad for the good guys like Frye and Grant Hill.
