Sun Devils head baseball coach, Tim Esmay, addressed the media for the first time this season on Tuesday and immediately brought up the fact that the Sun Devils are ineligible for post-season play this year.

"I look at this thing as an unusual circumstance, but by any means has not changed who we are, hasn't changed how we're preparing, hasn't changed how excited we are about this season."

ASU was put on probation last season, but appealed the NCAA which allowed them to take part in last year's post-season tournament.  However, now the team must serve out their original penalty.

So with post-season and the College World Series out of the picture, Esmay has a different goal for his team.

"This year is to go out and be the best team in the Pac-12, but that's the goal every year," said Esmay while addressing the media on Tuesday.

"When the fans come out next week and we open against Northern Michigan, they're gonna see Sun Devil baseball."
