PHOENIX - Coming off a 55-21 win over Washington State on Thursday night, the Arizona State Sun Devils have climbed to No. 23 in this week’s Associated Press College Football Poll and have also made it into the Top 25 in the USA Today coaches poll. The Devils are ranked 24th in that poll.
The No. 23 ranking gets the Devils back in the AP Top 25 in November for the first time since 2007.
The Sun Devils are now 6-2 overall and 4-1 in the Pac-12 and travel to Utah to take on the Utes next Saturday, November 9. At this point in the season, the Sun Devils are ranked No.1 in the PAC-12 South standings and with Thursday night’s win in Pullman are Bowl eligible with six wins.
The BCS standings will be released later Sunday. Offensively, the Devils are now ranked sixth in scoring (46.6 points), 10th in yards per game (515), and 17th in passing yards per game (324.9).
Defensively, ASU’s best ranking nationally is 17th in yards allowed per game (343.3) and 21st in rushing yards per game (126.3).
With a 6-2 record, ASU could finish as high as third in the PAC-12 which would send them to the Holiday Bowl on December 30, 2013 in San Diego against the BIG 12 No. 5 team, which at this point is Texas.
