Fun facts about Arizona Cardinals win over Miami Dolphins

GLENDALE, AZ - The Arizona Cardinals won in overtime Sunday 24-21.

They're now 4-0 for the first time in 38 years. In fact, the last time the team started a season like this, Richard Nixon was President of the United States.

With a game against the Rams on Thursday in St. Louis, the Cards will also have a very short amount of time to enjoy the win.

The Cards will have just one night before they get back to work, focusing on the Rams, a team that beat the Seahawks on Sunday, to start the season at 2 and 2.

Here are a few facts regarding Sunday’s Cardinals overtime win against the Dolphins that may not make the news:

1. With the win, the Cardinals now have the best record in the NFL over the past 13 games. The Cards are 11-2, while the Packers, the 49ers, the Falcons, the Ravens, the Patriots and the Texans are all 10-3 over the same span.
    
2. Sunday’s game was the 68th consecutive sell-out at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.
    
3. After beating the Dolphins in overtime, the Cardinals have now won seven consecutive overtime games at home. That represents the longest home overtime win streak in NFL history.
    
4. Sunday’s win over Miami was the Cardinals 500th regular season win in franchise history. The Cardinals became just the ninth team in NFL history to reach 500 wins. The Bears lead that category with 714 regular season wins to date.
    
5. Prior to Sunday’s win, the Cardinals had an all-time record of 9-214-1 when trailing by as many as 13 points at halftime. WOW!
    
6. So far this season, the Cardinals have a total of 16 quarterback sacks, just one sack behind League leading Cincinnati.
    
7. The Cardinals finished the month of September with four wins. That’s the first time in franchise history the team has won four games in September, and the first time in any single month since October of 1984.
    
8. Larry Fitzgerald has now caught a pass in 121 consecutive games, tying Mel Gray for the franchise all-time record!
    
9. Fitzgerald now has a catch in 127 of the 128 games he has played in. The only game he didn’t catch a pass was in his rookie season against Buffalo on Oct. 31, 2004.
    
10. Receiver Andre Roberts had the biggest game of his NFL career versus the Dolphins, with 118 yards receiving and two touchdowns!
