US AIRWAYS MERGER
The Wall Street Journal is reporting the boards of American Airlines and US Airways will each meet Wednesday to consider a merger, with an announcement coming anytime between late Wednesday and early next week.

JODI ARIAS TRIAL
Jodi Arias, accused of murdering her boyfriend, returns to the stand for a sixth day. She is still being questioned by her defense attorneys. 10:30 a.m., Maricopa County Superior Court, Phoenix.

FATHER MURDER SENTENCING
Albert Arias, accused of stabbing his father to death before turning himself in at a police station, is scheduled to be sentenced. He pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. 8:30 a.m., Maricopa County Superior Court, Phoenix.

DISTRACTED DRIVING BILL
The Arizona Senate Public Safety Committee will hold a hearing on a bill which would prohibit teens from using cell phones behind the wheel if they are in the learning permit stage or in the first six months of a graduated drivers license. 2 p.m., Arizona State Capitol, Phoenix.

IMMIGRATION REFORM HEARING
The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing on comprehensive immigration reform. 9:30 a.m. EST, Washington, D.C.

POSTAL SERVICE HEARING
The U.S. Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee will hold a hearing on the U.S. Postal Service and its financial issues. 10 a.m. EST, Washington, D.C.

PHOENIX CNG TRUCKS
The City of Phoenix will unveil a new fleet of trash trucks that run on compressed natural gas. 10 a.m., Okemah Service Center, Phoenix.
