FATAL HIT & RUN SENTENCING
Aimee Butel, who pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an injury collision and misdemeanor DUI, is scheduled to be sentenced. She was arrested for the fatal hit-and-run of a naked pedestrian near 34th Street and Thomas in March 2013. 8:30 a.m., Maricopa County Superior Court, Phoenix.
BRANDED GENITALS ARRAIGNMENT
Christopher Lynn Jackson, accused of branding his initials on his former girlfriend’s genitals, is scheduled to be arraigned on an aggravated assault charge. He was also charged with bestiality in a separate case. 8:30 a.m., Maricopa County Superior Court, Phoenix.
CHILD ABUSE DEATH ARRAIGNMENT
Melissa Centeno and Sergio Ortiz, charged with first-degree murder and child abuse after Centeno’s 4-year-old daughter died, are scheduled to be arraigned. 8:30 a.m., Maricopa County Superior Court, Phoenix.
BULLET RESISTANT FURNITURE
Ballistic Furniture Systems will conduct a live demonstration of how its bullet-absorbing technology can be integrated into furniture at schools, military bases, or other public places. 10:30 a.m., Scottsdale Gun Club.
