NATIONAL GUARD TO AFGHANISTAN
Ten soldiers from the Arizona Army National Guard's 363rd Explosive Ordinance Disposal Company, will deploy to Afghanistan. 2 p.m., Pettycrew Armory, Phoenix.

JERICE HUNTER IN COURT
Jerice Hunter, charged with first-degree murder and child abuse in the death of her missing daughter Jhessye Shockley, is scheduled to be in court for a pretrial conference. 9 a.m., Maricopa County Superior Court, Phoenix.

GLENDALE MAYOR SWEAR-IN
Glendale Mayor-elect Jerry Weiers will be sworn into office. Weiers replaces long-time Mayor Elaine Scruggs. 7 p.m., Council Chambers, Glendale City Hall.

BIDEN GUN RECOMMENDATIONS
A federal task force led by Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to have recommendations by Tuesday.

HIGHWAY REPORT CARD
Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety will release its annual report card grading the states on traffic safety laws. 10 a.m. EST, Washington, D.C.
