Governor Jan Brewer and Superintendent of Public Instruction John Huppenthal will talk about Arizona's new Common Core academic standards. 2pm, Franklin Police and Fire High School, Phoenix.
FLUORIDE DEBATE
Those who support fluoride in city water and those against it will debate the subject in a forum prior to a Phoenix City Council Subcommittee taking up the issue later this month. 6pm, Bulpitt Auditorium, Phoenix College.
NFL SEASON STARTS
The Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants play in the first game of the NFL season. 8:30pm EDT, MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ.
