PHOENIX - So you can stay ahead of the news, here's a quick look at some of the stories ABC15 will be keeping an eye on Friday, August 24.

FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL PATROL
The Maricopa County Attorney's Office is trying to prevent teen drug and alcohol use by visiting area high schools with the Friday Night Football Patrol. Students who sign a drug-free pledge are entered in a drawing to win a free car stereo system awarded at halftime of each game. The program kicks off this Friday at Desert Ridge High School in Mesa.

NATIONAL GUARD DEPARTURE
Army National Guard members from the Marana-based Bravo Company, 1st Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 285th Aviation Regiment will deploy to Afghanistan. 7:30am, Terminal A, Tucson International Airport.

BURGLARY MURDER SENTENCING
William Null, who pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and two counts of burglary, is scheduled to be sentenced. 9am, Maricopa County Superior Court, Phoenix.
