So you can stay ahead of the news, here's a quick look at some of the stories ABC15 will be keeping an eye on Wednesday, May 18:

POLICE KIDNAPPING STATISTICS
The final meeting of the City of Phoenix kidnapping statistics review panel will be held Wednesday afternoon, ending with panel members presenting their recommendations to the city manager. 1pm, Phoenix City Hall.

BORDER PATROL AGENT MEMORIALS
A public viewing for Senior Patrol Agent Hector Clark will be held Wednesday night at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Yuma, 7pm-9pm, with a Rosary being said at 7pm.

A public viewing for Lead Border Patrol Agent Eduardo Rojas Jr. will be held Thursday night at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Yuma, 7pm-9pm, with a Rosary being said at 7pm.

A public memorial service for both agents will be held at 1pm Friday at the Yuma Civic Center. Internment will immediately follow at Desert Lawn Cemetery, Yuma.

TWO YEARS AWAITING TRIAL
A Brazilian man has been sitting in a Yavapai County jail for more than two years awaiting trial. He believes the child molestation charges against him are without merit and has been waiting for his day in court. He’s been unable to bond out of jail because of the type of charges against him. He is scheduled to speak to media about his case on Wednesday afternoon. The Yavapai County Attorney’s Office would not comment because of legal and ethical rules.

GIFFORDS SKULL SURGERY
Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is scheduled to undergo surgery to replace a piece of skull doctors had previously removed, according to an anonymous Associated Press source. The surgery will take place in Houston, where she has been in rehabilitation.

GRIJALVA ON MEDICAID CUTS
Congressman Raul Grijalva will hold a news conference to discuss the potential impacts of proposed cuts to Arizona’s Medicaid program, AHCCCS, on 250,000 Arizonans. 10am, Arizona Center for Disability Law, Old Pioneer Hotel, Tucson.

FRANKS ON FINANCIAL SECURITY
Congressman Trent Franks will introduce the Seniors Financial Security Act, which would exclude Social Security benefits from seniors’ taxable income. 10:45am, Banner Olive Branch Senior Center, Sun City.

SCHWEIKERT PUMPS GAS
Congressman David Schweikert will meet with constituents and fill up gas tasks as he talks about rising gas prices and energy independence. 8am-9am, Danny’s Family Car Wash, Scottsdale.

CANCER CENTER EXPANSION
The City of Phoenix and the Arizona Cancer Center will announce what they call a significant investment in the center’s outpatient clinic for treatment and research. 9:30am, University of Arizona College of Medicine, Phoenix.

RIDE OF SILENCE
Cyclists will ride in a slow, silent procession to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured on public roadways. The ride is to raise awareness that cyclists have a legal right to the road. 6:30pm, starting at Mesa’s Mountain View Park, ending at Gilbert’s Freesone Park.

BACHELOR CASTING CALL
There will be an open casting call for "The Bachelor", looking for local women to audition for the ABC show. 5pm-9pm, Montelucia Resort, Paradise Valley.
