FATAL HIT-RUN SENTENCING
Laura Flanders, who pleaded guilty to negligent homicide and leaving the scene of a fatal collision, is scheduled to be sentenced. She was accused of driving under the influence when her vehicle hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk. 8:30 a.m., Maricopa County Superior Court, Phoenix.
GOVERNOR AT BOARD OF REGENTS
Governor Jan Brewer will encourage the Board of Regents to support her budget plan, which recommends $58.6 million in new funds for state universities. 11:45 a.m., Memorial Union, Arizona State University, Tempe.
MEDICAL MARIJUANA RALLY
Supporters of medical marijuana will gather for Cannabis Lobby Day. 11 a.m.-1p.m., Arizona State Capitol, Phoenix.
AID TO NAVAJOS
Salt River Project will deploy two four-man crews to the Navajo Nation to help communities that have been without running water for as long as two months. Governor Brewer declared a state of emergency for the area earlier this week. 6am, SRP Project Administration Building, Tempe.
JOHN QUINONES IN TOWN
ABC News anchor John Quinones will be the keynote speaker at a conference aimed to encourage public service and public participation in government and community. 10:30 a.m., Arizona Broadway Theater, Peoria.
