PHOENIX - Have you bought your ticket yet?
While the jackpot for Saturday's Powerball drawing has hit an estimated $325 million, the cash option will be $202.9 million, a new record.
The jackpot is is based on a forecast of ticket sales, and in this case, the sales have outpaced the forecast according to the Arizona Lottery.
The new $2 Powerball ticket became available on January 15. Arizona's first $1 million winning ticket was purchased in Tucson at a Fry's Food Store.
"Saturday is a big day for the Arizona Lottery since the Powerball jackpot is offering the largest cash option in the game's history," said Karen Bach, assistant director of budget, products and communications for the Arizona Lottery .
"Arizona is one of only four states to boast two second place $2 Powerball winners since the game launched and we expect to be congratulating more Arizona millionaires this year than ever before," she said.
