Police are looking for a man who they say escaped from the Wayne County Jail in Detroit by impersonating another inmate set for release, according to sources in the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
WXYZ in Detroit has learned that Rocky Marquez left the jail under another inmate’s name and number on January 20.
Marquez pulled this same stunt in Maricopa County when he escaped from the Lower Buckeye Jail last May, and was never found until last week.
Marquez was arrested on January 14th on the West side of Detroit. A U.S. Marshall found a car they believed he was driving and tracked it to his house where they arrested him.
The U.S. Marshals Service says they are investigating, but has no further comment at this time.
