FLAGSTAFF, AZ - A 22-year-old man tried to bribe a police officer several times as he was being transported to jail, according to the Flagstaff Police Department.
Christopher Taylor was arrested on May 19 after bouncers threw him out of a bar around 2:30 a.m.
“I’ll pay you $200 under the table if you let me go,” the suspect is heard saying on the police cruiser’s video system.
Taylor insisted he was not trying to bribe the officer, but was just trying to pay the “fine."
However, later, he again says he’ll pay the officer “extra” and “under the table” if he releases him.
While at the jail, investigators said Taylor hit a corrections officer’s hand, adding another charge to his booking sheet—aggravated assault on a corrections officer.
