PHOENIX - Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer says she's pushing hard for the Legislature to reform the sales tax system to make it simpler for businesses to report and pay what they owe.
She promised the reforms in the sales tax system proposed by a task force she created last year will eliminate the need for businesses with sales in multiple locations to file dozens of forms a month.
Brewer also says she is committed to giving schools the resources they need to implement required new standards.
Brewer and Legislative leaders spoke Friday at the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry's annual Legislative forecast luncheon in Phoenix.
House Speaker Andy Biggs says he supports the sales tax reform plan but is listening to cities and towns worried about losing construction tax revenue.
