MCSO CRIME SUPPRESSION
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office confirms deputies will be conducting a crime suppression operation Friday. They have not released any official details on the time, the location, or the purpose as of this writing.
JODI ARIAS HEARING
Attorneys in the Jodi Arias case will be in court for a closed hearing on motions related to the retrial of her penalty phase. It is unknown if Arias will be present for the hearing. 10 a.m., Maricopa County Superior Court, Phoenix.
Thomas Warner, a fourth grade teacher who pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation of a minor, is scheduled to be sentenced. 9:30 a.m., Maricopa County Superior Court, Phoenix.
Ali Chitsaz, who pleaded guilty to molestation of a child and attempted sexual exploitation of a minor, is scheduled to be sentenced. He was accused of molesting his girlfriend’s son while babysitting. 11 a.m., Maricopa County Superior Court, Phoenix.
SCHOOL SHOOTER TRAINING
The Chino Valley Police Department will spend three days conducting training for an active school shooter situation. The Chino Valley High School campus will be closed to the public Friday through Sunday. While no students or faculty will be involved in the training, there will be role players acting as suspects.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SURVIVOR DAY
Survivors of domestic violence will be joined by retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor and Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton for a news conference to observe Arizona Against Domestic Violence Day. 10 a.m., City Hall Atrium, Phoenix.
