Expect rain in the Valley and snow in higher elevations on Friday. Heaviest rain will likely be Friday afternoon, with possible thunderstorms and hail.
OFFICERS SHOT SENTENCING
Michael Alvarez, found guilty of attempted murder, aggravated assault, and other charges in connection with shooting two Phoenix police officers. One officer was grazed in the head, while the other was shot in the arm. 10 a.m., Maricopa County Superior Court, Phoenix.
HOMELESS VETERAN STAND DOWN
Homeless veterans can get help with shelter, social services, and healthcare this weekend at the Arizona StandDown. Friday through Sunday, Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Arizona State Fairgrounds, Phoenix.
