Explore Arizona! National parks offer 'fee free' day

PHOENIX - The U.S. Forest Service is waiving recreation fees at parks across the country for National Get Outdoors Day on Saturday, June 9.

The event includes parks in Arizona, including Grand Canyon National Park and dozens more across the state.

"GO Day is designed to attract new, diverse communities to outdoor activities and motivate kids to explore their national forests and other public lands," according to the U.S. Forest Service.

Free local and recreational activities will be offered nationwide. Visit the GO Day website  to find a full listing of events.

The next 'fee free' days are scheduled for September 29 and November 10 - 12.
