PHOENIX - Congressman Jeff Flake will deliver the weekly Republican address, focusing on fiscal responsibility and the importance of reducing the nation's debt and deficit.
Flake, a six-term congressman who is running for U.S. Senate against Democrat Richard Carmona, says that while the Obama administration has added more than $5 trillion to the national debt, the U.S. unemployment rate remains high, home values have decreased, and gas prices have doubled.
Last week, Carmona, who served as surgeon general under former President George W. Bush, got a boost from former President Bill Clinton during a fundraising event.
Carmona and Flake are running for the Senate seat being vacated by retiring Sen. Jon Kyl. Libertarian Marc Victor, a criminal defense lawyer who served in the U.S. Marines, also is running.
