PHOENIX - A virtual statewide treasure hunt is on and you could end up winning a custom made motorcycle.
It is called the "Bad Economy Bike Hunt." It is a partnership between 26 businesses that are partnering to give the bike away to a super sleuth.
“This is about our entire state coming together to really boost our own economy,” said Michelle Lawless with Orca Communications, the group that helped launch it.
“It is difficult to get people to understand what we do,” said Ralph Randolph, owner of Knockout Motorcycles in Mesa. He is one of the business owners participating. “We’ve had to switch our business with the economy to not only be a custom shop but one that handles full service for motorcycles as well.
Over the next nine weeks the businesses will give anyone who comes into their shop a “clue code.” They then log on to the biker hunt website to access the clue that will help them guess where the keys are “hidden.” The person who can unravel the clues and guess that location, in the end wins the bike which is a $35,000 value.
The winner will be announced at Westworld to kick off bike week. Arrangements are being made for a drawing in case more than one person comes up with the right answer.
“This is an opportunity to get the face to face contact with new customers,” said Randolph.
