New technology could secure Arizona border from drug cartels and undocumented immigrants

SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Securing our border with Mexico is an ongoing fight that our country just can't seem to solve, but a group of scientists may have an effective solution.

ABC15 got an exclusive preview of “DarkPulse” technology, the latest leap in security electronics. The scientists behind it say DarkPulse could easily halt one of the biggest threats from drug cartels; hidden underground tunnels.

Border agents discovered four tunnels in the last week, but didn't find a single person there. 

"That seems to be the problem,” DarkPulse Technologies President Dennis O’Leary said. “We don't actually find them creating the tunnel. We find it after it's been in place. How frustrating it has to be. We're chasing a phantom."

That chase could end soon, if new border security devices like DarkPulse are installed along the border. The technology is an advanced fiber optic-type cable. When buried in the ground, DarkPulse can detect any type of movement happening underground, making it the perfect weapon to stop drug cartel tunnels.

"This is a tool that we can see this happening in real time,” O’Leary said. “Wait for [the diggers] to complete the tunnel, wait for them to break through, then you have the border security guys waiting there to make an arrest."

O'Leary says his company's device can even pinpoint action on the border surface, giving border agents a visual readout of what tripped the sensors.

“You see if it’s a shoe, is it a tire mark, or is it an animal print? No false alarm. Either someone stepped on it or they didn't."

One of the best parts is that DarkPulse can pick up intruders anywhere around it, not just directly on top of it.

O'Leary estimates a strategic Dark Pulse system could monitor the entire U.S.- Mexican border for under $30 million. It’s a potential cost-effective solution to a problem that many believe has needed a solution for decades.

Aside from border security, O’Leary claims DarkPulse can also be used to monitor oil pipelines for leaks, mines for safety, bridges for structural weakness, and much more.
