VIDEO: New spectacular view of Earth

A series of photos captured by a Russian weather satellite shows the highest resolution image of Earth ever taken.
ABC News reports the image was captured by the satellite Electro-L and unlike NASA's famous " blue marble " photograph, it's a single shot, not a composite of different images.
The image was taken as Electro-L orbited 22,369 miles above the equator, Gizmodo reports.
The photos were taken every half hour, combining three visible wavelengths of light and one infrared, making the vegetation appear orange in the image.
In the video below, the photos, taken in May of 2011, are combined to show the passage of time, according to ABC News.
