NASA has released video of a massive solar flare eruption that created intergalactic fireworks July 4.
The flare, which can be seen bursting from the sun's surface, was so powerful that it disrupted radio communications over Europe.
It also sent electrically-charged particles shooting into space that just might sweep past earth's magnetic field and spark some auroral fireworks.
