While Apple has not announced a release date or even the existence of an iPad Mini, photos claiming to show the rumored device are circling the internet Wednesday.

The UK’s Daily Mail said a researcher for fansite 9to5mac.com published images on Twitter.

The photos from researcher Sonny Dickson reportedly show a device smaller than the current Apple iPad that uses the new connector used on the iPhone 5.

The article said the iPad dominates the market, but that Apple is facing competition from other smaller, cheaper tablets.

Rumors claims the announcement for the iPad Mini will happen on October 17th and the new gadgets will go on sale November 7th.  Read more and see photos!
