Six years after the original Nintendo Wii debuted, the new, highly anticipated Wii U went on sale Sunday.
According to ABC News, the latest video game system comes "packed with potential."
The controller is one of the biggest changes to the system, but there are several other changes worth noting.
The Nintendo console is is capable of displaying full HD, 1080p games on your HDTV. It connects to your TV with an HDMI cord, which is included in the box.
The GamePad controller puts a larger, 6.2-inch touchscreen in your hands. It also has a front-facing camera, stylus, dual analog sticks, an accelerometer and a gyroscope. At 1.1 pounds, it is light weight and easy to hold.
The Wii U also comes with new games and social media capabilities.
According to ABC News' review, "the second-generation Wii might not be as game-changing as the original, but it certainly is a lot of fun to play with."
