SURPRISE, AZ - Members of two West Valley police departments joined forces by helping staff from a local restaurant in hopes of raising donations to support Arizona Special Olympics.
The officers were joined by McGruff, the Crime Dog for the “Tip a Cop” event being held on Saturday at the Red Robin restaurant located at 14015 W. Bell Road in Surprise.
According to a news release, this was one of the many activities that law enforcement agencies from across Arizona participate in to raise money for Special Olympics.
Police asked residents to come out and enjoy the food and help raise some funds for a good cause.
Officers were on hand at lunch time and were there again from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. serving up meals and accepting donations.
Donations can also be given at any time by contacting Officer Chris Tovar at 623-222-4287.
