SURPRISE, AZ - Police made an arrest Monday in the robbery of a Circle K in Surprise earlier this month.
Surprise Police Sergeant Mark Ortega said 45-year-old John Moore was arrested for the robbery of a Circle K near Grand Avenue and Greenway Boulevard on July 8th around 4 a.m.
The robber reportedly took cigarettes and then demanded cash from the clerk before fleeing the scene.
After the robbery, Surprise police put out a flyer with the suspect’s description and surveillance photos.
Ortega said an El Mirage police officer recognized Moore from the flyer and contacted him on the street around 1:37 a.m. on Monday.
Moore was then detained on suspicion of robbery and Surprise police officers responded to their location.
Moore reportedly admitted to committing the robbery.
