SURPRISE, AZ - Surprise Police say a vehicle was pulled out of a pond Thursday afternoon with a female body inside.
According to Surprise police Sgt. Bert Anzini, officers were notified around 12:45 p.m. that the vehicle was submerged in a golf course pond near Sunrise Boulevard and Remington Drive.
A diver reportedly discovered the vehicle while searching the pond for golf balls.
Anzini said police then learned from the vehicle’s license plate that the car belonged to a woman who was reported missing from Wickenburg, Ariz.
The body of the woman was found inside the car when it was removed from the pond, he said.
The woman’s body was unidentifiable at the time her body was removed, Anzini said.
Police are waiting to learn her identity after investigation conducted by the Maricopa County Medical Examiner.
Surprise and Wickenburg police are working together during this ongoing investigation.
