SURPRISE, Ariz. - A 7-year-old Surprise boy got the bedroom of his dreams this holiday season.
Niklas Carter was diagnosed with cancer in September.
The organization Special Spaces reached out to his family to remake his room into the room of his dreams. The theme was a fire and police station.
Niklas wants to be a firefighter so he can help people and get cats out of trees.
Niklas' sisters also had their rooms redone, and the volunteers also gave the family a playroom.
Family members tell us Niklas is expected to recover from cancer.
Volunteers hope the makeover will make his road to recovery a lot easier.
