SURPRISE, AZ - Surprise police have arrested a suspect in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred late Wednesday night.
Sgt. Bert Anzini said the 48-year-old victim and 18-year-old suspect, Connor Lake, were friends.
Lake had been driving the victim to the hospital after stabbing him during an argument near Honeysuckle and Larkspur lanes when the victim forced Lake to stop the car to flag down a nearby ambulance for help.
Officers arrived at the area of 14900 West Grand Avenue after the male victim had been transported to the hospital and interviewed Lake, who was still present at the scene.
Lake admitted to stabbing the victim, and was arrested and booked into Maricopa County 4th Avenue Jail for aggravated assault, a class 3 felony.
The victim is in critical condition and the investigation is continuing.
