SURPRISE, AZ - At least two people were injured in a shooting in Surprise Friday night.
Police spokesman Bert Anzini said the incident happened near Ironwood and Factory streets.
Anzini said two men, ages 17 and 20, got into an argument. The 17-year-old received a gunshot wound in the foot, and the 20-year-old had been struck in the head.
Witnesses told ABC15 they heard at least 10 gunshots.
Further investigation revealed the shooting was motivated by an ongoing dispute between the 20-year-old male and the 17-year-old male, and that a drive-by shooting was initiated by the adult male who had driven with friends to the area.
Anzini said that the 17-year-old was with a 22-year-old male outside his residence at the time of the shooting. The 22-year-old returned fire at the vehicle, striking the 20-year-old with one of his bullets.
The adult male was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition, the juvenile was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Air15 showed a heavy police presence in the area, with several intersections blocked.
No arrests have been made at this time while the investigation continues, according to Anzini.
