PEORIA, AZ - A Peoria pizzeria is credited with making a very special delivery for a Valley man, but it wasn't a pizza -- it was a wallet.
“No we do not make deliveries,” said Grimaldi’s General Manager Rich Seidner.
But Seidner did break the restaurant’s rules when he delivered the wallet that had been placed in the West Valley eatery's safe for a few weeks.
He checked the drivers license, read the address and took the wallet to the owner’s front door.
“I can’t tell you how much it meant to me,” said Al Antinoni, who forgot his wallet after a family meal at Grimaldi's. “I didn’t even know it was missing.”
Antinoni's wallet was full of important papers, credit cards and cash, but the Sun City resident said some things are more important.
“You know papers, that would take a month to replace,” said Al. “I have always had really good luck.”
While Grimaldi's does not make deliveries, Seidner figured it was OK to break the rules just this once.
“I didn’t think it was a big deal,” said Seidner. “I was just doing something anyone would do if given the chance.”
