PEORIA, AZ - Police say no suspicious device was found at Peoria High School Friday after the campus was evacuated and searched based on a bomb threat.
According to Mike Tellef with Peoria Police and Fire, bomb-sniffing police dogs from Luke Air Force Base and State Capitol Police assisted in the search.
The school was evacuated around 10 a.m. Friday after a student found the bomb threat in the form of a note.
The Peoria Unified School District said the police department recommended the evacuation.
Approximately 1,700 students were moved to the Peoria Sports Complex near Bell Road and 83rd Avenue.
Tellef said all students were picked up or taken to other locations by 2 p.m.
Officials said COOP students were evacuated to Cheyenne Elementary School.
Anyone with information on the bomb threat is asked to call Silent Witness at 1-800-343-8477.
