Peoria man arrested after parents attacked in their home

PEORIA, AZ - Peoria police say a 38-year-old man has been arrested in the deadly assault on his parents earlier this month.
According to a Peoria police news release, Victor Castro lived with his parents, 62-year-old Victor Castro and 61-year-old Lorena Castro when the assault occurred .
Investigators believe Castro attacked his parents with a large heavy object in the July 6 attack that left them both with life-threatening injuries.
The victims were found by family members hours later.
Lorena Castro died from her injuries on July 11 and Freddie Castro remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Police said a motive for the attack is still unknown.
Victor Castro was arrested on Thursday and booked into jail on one count of second-degree murder and one count of aggravated assault.
