PEORIA, AZ - Authorities are investigating after a woman was shot early Tuesday morning in Peoria.
Peoria police spokesperson Amanda Jacinto said, a boyfriend and girlfriend got into a fight at a home near 85th ave and Peoria Ave which lead to the woman being shot in the abdomen.
Jacinto says two other people at the home tried to intervene when the man took out his gun, but during the struggle is when the gun went off striking his girlfriend.
Jacinto said the woman was transported to an area hospital where she is reported to be in stable condition.
The man who allegedly shot his girlfriend is in custody.
