PEORIA, AZ - Residents of a Peoria apartment complex were evacuated Wednesday after police found two pipe bombs in one of the tenant's homes.

Peoria police spokesman Jay Davies said police were searching one of the apartments for narcotics when when they discovered two pipe bombs inside.

The Glendale bomb squad and ATF were sent to the complex near 88th Avenue and Thunderbird to secure the area. Davies said the bombs were removed form the home and did not appear to be activated.

Surrounding apartments were evacuated for about an hour and a half.

Authorities said Steven May, 19,  and Alyssa Smith, 20 were arrested for possession of narcotics.

ATF officials say this is not related to a pipe bomb incident in Glendale September 6.
