PEORIA, AZ - Authorities are working to determine what caused a fire that apparently started in the attic of a Peoria home late Monday night.
According to the Peoria Fire Department, crews responded to the home near 71st Avenue and Mountain View Road around 11 p.m. where they found a fire in the attic.
The fire reportedly extended into the walls, causing a lot of heat and smoke damage. Most of the damage was contained to the north side of the home.
Authorities said no one was home at the time and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
