PEORIA, AZ - Police have released the 911 call and radio traffic from a shooting that critically injured a Maricopa County Sheriff's deputy.

Ruben Garcia, a 29-year veteran with the Sheriff's Department. was shot in Peoria early Tuesday morning.

The suspect, identified as 54-year-old Donald Miller Sr ., died at the scene.

The 911 call is from the people who ran to Garcia after he was shot.
 
Caller: "Oh my God there's an officer down he's just been shot!"
Dispatcher: "I'm sorry what?"
Caller: "An officer has been shot."
Dispatcher: "Where?"
Caller: "83rd and Deer Valley at the Valero, oh my God!"
 
You can hear the confusion and concern at the Maricopa County Sheriff's Department when Deputy Garcia's radio went silent.
 
"Lincoln 341, 341, I need all units to Lincoln 341's location at 83rd Avenue and Deer Valley at the Valero, 343, fire is working on him right now..."
 
There was a pursuit after the shooting. That's when Donald Miller was killed. It is still unclear if he was shot by deputies, or if he shot himself.
