PEORIA, AZ - Authorities have identified a woman killed during a boating accident at Lake Pleasant Saturday.
Maricopa County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jeff Sprong said the victim in 32-year-old Mesa resident Amber Marks.
In addition to her death, several others were injured in the accident just northwest of Phoenix.
Maricopa County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jeff Sprong said two boats traveling in opposite directions collided, with one going completely over the other. He said one boat may have turned in front of the other.
Sprong said of the four people injured, two were air-lifted to Valley hospitals and the other two were taken by ground ambulance. Marks died at the hospital. All were in the bottom boat during the crash.
Officials say alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
An investigation is under way.
